Commercial pressure washing in Cape Coral
A shopping-center sidewalk, a dumpster pad and a storefront each need a different wash, a quiet hour to do it in, and a plan for where the dirty water goes.
Scope the property in zones
Break the job into zones: building faces and signs, walkways and entries, drive-through lanes, dumpster and grease areas, and parking. Each zone has its own method, from soft washing painted facades to hot water on grease. A single square-footage price for everything hides those differences.
Agree on a work window. Early mornings and overnight hours keep water away from customers and wet walkways away from anyone who could slip. Ask how the contractor will mark wet areas and keep doors, signs and outdoor seating dry.
Paperwork worth asking for
The City’s business tax receipt page says the local business tax under City Code Chapter 11 also applies to businesses located outside city limits that conduct business within Cape Coral, and that a Lee County business tax receipt is required as well. Every City receipt expires on September 30 each year, with penalties starting at 10 percent on October 1 (retrieved September 27, 2026).
The Lee County Tax Collector adds that businesses producing non-domestic wastewater must submit a Business Waste Survey to Lee County Utilities under County Ordinance 12-03. A wash contractor that recovers and disposes of rinse water should be able to explain where it goes.
Recovery on a busy lot
Parking lots drain to storm inlets, and in Cape Coral those inlets lead toward the canals. The FDEP’s practices list storm drain covers, containment booms, vacuums and pumps for catching water, and note that inflatable pipe plugs belong on private property only. Ask which of these the contractor brings and where the collected water ends up.
