Gutter brightening in Cape Coral
The dark vertical stripes on the outside of a white gutter rarely rinse off with water alone, and the fascia and soffit around them need a lighter touch than the drive.
Why gutter faces streak
Water and grime spill over the front lip of a gutter, dry there and bond to the paint in thin vertical lines that the trade calls tiger stripes. Plain pressure spreads them or scrubs the paint thin. Brightening uses a cleaner made for painted aluminum, applied by brush or low-pressure sprayer, then rinsed.
Clean inside the gutter before brightening the outside. Leaves and sludge flushed out later will streak a freshly cleaned face, and a blocked downspout will send the next rain over the lip again.
Fascia, soffit and what lives there
Soffit vents pull air into the attic, and water forced into them ends up where it cannot dry. Ask the contractor to keep the wand angled down along the roof edge. The FWC lists soffits, attics and the space under shutters or roof shingles among the places bats form colonies, and says excluding them is illegal from April 16 to August 14 (retrieved September 27, 2026). Look for droppings under the eaves before booking.
Downspouts and runoff
Everything that comes off a gutter leaves through the downspouts, usually onto the lawn and then toward the swale. Point the downspouts at grass, not pavement, during the job, and ask the contractor what the cleaning product contains. Many owners pair gutter work with a roof cleaning or house wash. Plan them as one visit from the top down so that nothing cleaned early gets streaked again.
